Barron’s Ranks JNBA Financial Advisors CEO Richard S. Brown Top Financial Advisor in Minnesota for Third Time

Brown, JNBA also make Barron’s list of America’s top 1,200 advisors for 12th year

MINNEAPOLIS--()--For the third time in eight years, Barron’s has ranked JNBA Financial Advisors CEO Richard S. Brown the top financial advisor in Minnesota. Richard and JNBA were also named to Barron’s list of the 1,200 top advisors in the country for the 12th consecutive year. Brown previously took the top spot on Barron’s Minnesota list in 2014 and 2018.

According to Barron’s, the rankings are based on assets under management, revenues generated by advisors for their firms, and the quality of the advisors’ practices. The rankings can be found in the March 15 issue of Barron’s Magazine, on Barrons.com, and in a special section in The Wall Street Journal on March 18.

“We could not be more proud that Barron’s recognized Richard for his vision and leadership in building JNBA and the team into what it is today, positively impacting our community and guiding our team’s work with our clients, especially now,” says Kim Brown, president of JNBA Financial Advisors. “JNBA’s unwavering independence with Richard’s leadership supporting our team’s approach as a passionate advocate for our clients has never been more important.”

JNBA has posted a more-than-96-percent client retention rate since tracking began in 2001, and its business is continuing to grow and thrive with over $1 billion in assets under management today. The firm’s independence and advice driven by advocacy® approach allows JNBA to customize investment strategies to individual client goals, which are implemented by an experienced team and disciplined process, including a review of each portfolio every 10 business days.

Earlier this month, Brown was named to the Forbes Best-in-State Top Wealth Advisors – High Net Worth list, ranked as one of Minnesota’s top two financial advisors and appearing on the list as the state’s top fee-only investment advisor. In 2020, for the sixth consecutive year, he was named to Barron’s list of the Top 100 Independent Advisors. Brown and JNBA are the only Minnesota financial advisor on the list. JNBA has also been named to the Financial Times Top 300 Registered Investment Adviser list for five years.*
