HOUSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Hanszen Laporte is pleased to announce today the appointment of Matthew Hansel to the role of Junior Partner. In his new position, Matthew will specialize in Commercial Litigation as well as transactional work within the firm while playing also a larger role in the development of the firm. Previously, Matthew held the position of Senior Associate where he worked on complex litigation and mentored a team of associate attorneys. A proven litigator, Matthew has extensive courtroom experience and epitomizes the values of the firm.

Matthew graduated from American University Washington College of Law. During law school, he clerked at the United States Department of Commerce with the Office of the Chief Counsel for Trade Enforcement and Compliance as well as at a boutique corporate and securities law firm. Originally from Utah, Matthew is married to native Houstonian, Abbie Kamin, Houston City Council Member, District C. The couple is expecting their first child in the Spring of 2021.
