TORONTO--()--SoftwareReviews, a division of world-class IT research and consulting firm Info-Tech Research Group, has published its 2020 Unified Communications as a Service Data Quadrant Awards, naming four vendors as Gold Medalists. The following vendors are leaders according to the feedback provided by their end users via SoftwareReviews’ comprehensive online survey. Vendors were rated on their product features, vendor capabilities, and the relationship with their software partner:

  • Microsoft Teams
  • Cisco Webex Calling
  • Alcatel-Lucent Rainbow
  • AT&T Office@Hand

What makes the SoftwareReviews Data Quadrant different? Inclusion of aggregated emotional response ratings in the areas of service, negotiation, product impact, conflict resolution, and strategy and innovation create a powerful indicator of overall user feeling toward the vendor and its product from the software users’ point of view. SoftwareReviews calls this insight the Net Emotional Footprint.

2020 has been a year of digital disruption, and the UCaaS marketspace is no exception. UCaaS has become absolutely critical in providing connectivity and flexibility. Indeed, in light the pandemic, those vendors that excel will have another 'C' in mind with their offerings: collaboration, particularly audio/video conferencing, whiteboarding, instant messaging, and so on, for enabling remote work,” says Thomas Randall, research analyst, Info-Tech Research Group. “As such, when viewing the market, be sure to not only take into account your organization’s telephony requirements, but your broader collaboration requirements, too. Building a unified experience for end users is key for enhancing their satisfaction.”

Microsoft Teams, with a Net Emotional Footprint of +80, scored top product in many categories, specifically exceeding user expectations in web and desktop conferencing, business value created, continuous UCC, and ease of implementation. Cisco Webex Calling, with a Net Emotional Footprint of +79, performed well overall, receiving top product in vendor support, call management, speech access and personal assistant, and audio transcription. Alcatel-Lucent Rainbow, with a Net Emotional Footprint of +82, ranked highly in centralized management portal and communications. AT&T Office@Hand with a Net Emotional Footprint of +67, excelled in audio transcription, centralized management portal, and communications.

In general, Unified Communications as a Service Data software users were most satisfied with centralized management portal and communications – and were most dissatisfied with vendor support.
