Somesh Dash and Tom Loverro Named on the 2020 GrowthCap’s Top 40 Under 40 Growth Investors List

About Somesh Dash

Somesh joined IVP in 2005. He led IVP’s investments in Amplitude, Brex, Business Insider, Discord, Dropbox, Expanse, H1, Humu, Klout, Lime, Lyra Health, Pindrop, Pure Storage, Rubrik, SoundCloud, Tanium, Thrive Global, Uber, and Walker & Company, among others. Somesh was recognized by The New York Times and CB Insights in 2019 as one of the top 100 venture capitalists and by GrowthCap as one of the Top 40 Under 40 Growth Investors in 2019. Somesh is currently a member of the Management Board at Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business (GSB), the board of The Tech Interactive, and the Advisory Board of Malaria No More.

Somesh earned a B.S. in Business Administration from the Haas School of Business at the University of California at Berkeley and an M.B.A. from Stanford University. Prior to IVP, he worked for the Corporate Development Division of Sony Entertainment Television (SET) in Mumbai, India, and in the Corporate Finance Division of Credit Suisse’s Technology Investment Banking Group.

About Tom Loverro

Tom joined IVP in 2015. He focuses on investing in later-stage, high-growth consumer and enterprise companies. Tom currently serves as a Board Director or Observer for Attentive, Coinbase, HashiCorp, NerdWallet, and Podium. He was actively involved in sourcing, executing, and managing investments in Amplitude, Datadog (DDOG), GitHub (MSFT), IEX, OnDeck (ONDK), and Tanium. Forbes Magazine recognized Tom as one of venture capital’s up-and-comers by his inclusion in the 2019 Midas Brink List. GrowthCap recognized him as one of the Top 25 Software Investors of 2020 and one of the Top 40 Under 40 Growth Investors in 2019.

Tom holds an M.B.A. from the Kellogg School of Management, where he was an Austin Scholar, and a B.A. from Stanford University, where he graduated with Distinction. He began his career at Goldman Sachs & Co. in technology, media, and telecommunications investment banking. Following Goldman, he joined RRE, a leading early-stage venture firm, based in New York. Tom’s involvement in RRE portfolio company Drobo led to him joining the company full-time for a period where he led Marketing.
