GetWellNetwork Focuses on Advancing its Digital Health Strategy in 2021, Promotes Nikia Bergan to President of Company

Twenty-year healthcare technology leader taps Bergan to lead product and global commercial strategy

BETHESDA, Md.--()--GetWellNetwork, a global leader in patient engagement, announced today the promotion of Nikia Bergan to President. She will serve as the second president in the company’s history. Bergan is being promoted from her current role as Chief Growth Officer and will assume the new role effective January 1, 2021.

This evolution in GetWellNetwork’s leadership structure signals the company's commitment to continually supporting its healthcare partners during the COVID-19 pandemic and beyond, as the acceleration of digital health further positively transforms the market for patients and providers.

“Nikia has been instrumental in our growth since 2018 when she joined. Her ability to strategically advise our partners, uncover key growth opportunities, and identify and cultivate top talent are just a few reasons why this promotion is so exciting,” said Michael O'Neil, GetWellNetwork Founder + CEO. “As we head into 2021 and enter our third decade in the patient engagement space, there is no one more equipped than Nikia to lead the team to execute against our roadmap and provide clear direction for our path ahead.”

In her previous role as Chief Growth Officer, Bergan was responsible for expanding GetWellNetwork’s domestic and international footprint through client satisfaction and revenue generation. Prior to joining GetWellNetwork, Bergan spent nearly two decades at the Advisory Board Company (ABC) where she built a strong reputation for providing executive stakeholders with the enterprise solutions that met their strategic needs.

“I am honored and excited by the opportunity to expand GetWellNetwork’s impact on new markets and populations. Like so many, I was struck by the depths of racial and social disparities that COVID-19 and the response revealed in our society and in our healthcare system,” said Bergan. “As a woman and a person of color, I am committed to using my new platform to continue the work we’re doing to use technology to bring us closer to closing those gaps and supporting underserved patients and communities through the entirety of their healthcare journey.”
