DALLAS--()--Molina Healthcare of Texas (“Molina”) is marking Giving Tuesday with a series of donations leading up to this national day of giving back. Over a period of two weeks, Molina held virtual check presentations giving nine different Federally Qualified Health Centers (“FQHC”) up to $50,000 each to help supplement their efforts in caring for communities in need.

“Molina Healthcare of Texas is proud to support the important work our partner FQHCs conduct daily to care for the health and well-being of all Texans, particularly during this challenging year,” said Anne Rote, plan president for Molina Healthcare of Texas. “We are grateful for the opportunity to serve and are confident that the donations will help us to build stronger and healthier communities together.”

Federally Qualified Health Centers are community-based health care providers receiving funds from the HRSA Health Center Program to provide primary care services in underserved areas. They must meet a stringent set of requirements, including providing care on a sliding fee scale based on ability to pay and operating under a governing board that includes patients.

“On behalf of our board of directors, staff, and most importantly our patients, we thank Molina Healthcare for this donation,” said Elmo Lopez Jr., CEO of Gateway Community Health Center. “This $50,000 gift makes them a Hero in Healthcare in their own right. Gateway Clinic’s goal is to ‘Provide Quality Care for Everyone’ and this gift enables us to do exactly that across the three counties we serve.”
