Maryland Tech Council Kicks-Off Inaugural Digital Transformation Virtual Summit

Working Group Announced to Address Diversity, Equality and Inclusion Through Technology

FREDERICK, Md.--()--Maryland Technology, the division of the Maryland Tech Council (MTC) representing technology and cyber innovation in Maryland, kicked-off its inaugural Digital Transformation Virtual Summit today. The event is open to both members and non-members without cost for registration. This summit’s aim is to assist companies in the increase of regional productivity through digital transformation and provide strategies to problem solve for different areas of their businesses and careers as they implement digital innovation.

“The economic stress that’s been felt during this pandemic, not only in Maryland but nationally, has helped to highlight the importance of digital solutions that help to create and promote the technological infrastructure,” said MTC CEO Martin Rosendale. “Maryland has shown its leadership nationally in the development and execution of digital solutions for our changing world. But, these past few months have only helped to identify the need for and expansion of these technologies, and the Digital Transformation Virtual Summit will be both a platform and common ground for the tech industry to express and collaborate on these solutions.”

The Digital Transformation Virtual Summit features two keynote addresses:

Breakout session topics focus on:

  • Enabling innovation
  • Strategies and tactics for digital governance
  • How to prevent a potential data breach
  • How artificial intelligence and machine learning can be applied to businesses

Additionally, MTC opened the event with the announcement of a working group that was recently formed to address diversity, equality and inclusion through technology. Key leaders of the working group include:

  • Linda Singh, Interim CEO of Tedco and CEO of Kaleidoscope Affect
  • David Tohn, CEO of BTS Software Solutions
  • Vennard Wright, CIO/VP of Operations at Iron Bow Technologies

The summit will also feature 17 different exhibitors and virtual networking opportunities to support attendees’ learning in addition to the keynote addresses and breakout sessions.

Rosendale adds, “This is a time unlike any other –– we need to work and collaborate together to ensure that we come out even better on the other side—especially as it pertains to harnessing the power of technology for the good of mankind. We felt strongly that it was very important that everyone and anyone could attend this inaugural event. We are ‘Better Together,’ and collaboration must continue to be the cornerstone of our great State of Maryland.”
