BEND, Ore.--()--Smartwaiver, the leading provider of digital waivers, has seen a significant surge in demand over the past two months with many businesses looking to protect themselves from COVID-19 liability. Whereas the company regularly experienced demand for general liability waivers, the COVID-19 pandemic has prompted the need for many businesses to consider the use of a COVID-19 specific waiver.

Smartwaiver’s cloud-based technology enables businesses to deliver their custom liability waivers directly to a customer’s mobile device allowing for a quick interaction that eliminates the need for paper and physical contact. This further decreases the risk for a business if it is suspected that a customer or employee contracted the COVID-19 virus.

More than 80 million digital waivers have been signed using Smartwaiver’s technology. The Oregon-based company has seen an increase in demand primarily from small and medium-sized businesses including hair and nail salons, barbershops, restaurants, medical offices and sport and fitness facilities.

“This is a very sensitive time for many businesses and COVID-19 liability has become a real issue that many industries now have to manage,” said Maria Trysla, CEO, Smartwaiver. “From hair and nail salons, day spas and tattoo parlors to dentists and sports clubs, more businesses now need to protect themselves and their customers with liability waivers. We are glad to be able to help so many companies as they return to business with Smartwaiver’s safe and easy-to-use contactless technology.”

To meet the growing demand, Smartwaiver will expand its development team and platform infrastructure. The company has also debuted new patent-pending Auto Photo Capture technology to add an extra layer of identity verification to its products as well as QR code and SMS capabilities.

“Expanding our platform allows us to support even more partners and customers with affordable and reliable technology that can help businesses avoid potential costly legal issues,” added Trysla.
