OAK RIDGE, Tenn.--()--The Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education unveiled its redesigned ORISE website and new ORISE GO app today, providing a wide range of resources on the go.

The all-new ORISE GO mobile app offers college students, recent graduates and postdoctoral students a mobile tool to search and apply for hundreds of science, technology, engineering and math internships, fellowships and research opportunities at national labs and facilities across the U.S. The ORISE GO app also provides a platform to remain engaged, connected and informed during the ORISE experience—from application, to offer, through the appointment and even as an ORISE alum.

“We created the ORISE GO app with our target audiences in mind,” said ORISE Director Jim Vosburg. “We wanted to provide a platform for ORISE participants and others to connect and be able to stay connected to ORISE on their mobile devices.”

The ORISE GO mobile app helps those interested stay engaged, connected and informed during their ORISE experience and beyond. Those interested can use the app to search and apply for opportunities, learn about exclusive ORISE events, manage applications, accept offers, enhance skills, access a variety of STEM career resources and more! Visit ORISE GO for more information and to download the app to a mobile device.

ORISE also launched its new, redesigned website that offers a portal for students and graduates looking for STEM internships, fellowships and other professional development opportunities; information on scientific peer review; medical consultation for radiation incidents through the Radiation Emergency Assistance Center/Training Site (REAC/TS); worker health surveillance and related studies; environmental and radiological assessments; lab services and much more ORISE information.

“A great deal of user research was performed before work on redesigning the website began, including conducting focus groups with people for whom the website is designed to target,” said ORISE Director Jim Vosburg. “We used this research to design the website for ease of navigation and to match the design and content with what our target audience wants and needs.”

The ORISE website has been revitalized with new videos and images, refreshed content, bolder design and easier functionality. The website navigation allows users to identify themselves, so they can quickly navigate to the areas they want to visit. For example, the drop-down menus have been simplified significantly and the ability for users to self-select, such as university student and graduate, teacher, mentor, K-12 student or professional, has been enhanced.

“The website features a colorful modern look, responsive design, new videos and images in addition to refreshed content and other features to deliver a truly informative and relevant user experience,” Vosburg added.
