The Hope Center, located at 684 Elm Street, is an innovative community driven initiative equipped to provide centralized community-based services across multiple sectors including substance abuse treatment, employment, housing, education, health and more. Spero Health will operate alongside other community partners and friends within the center to provide behavioral health services to those struggling with addiction. Dr. Donna Gatewood who has more than a decade of experience in the treatment of substance use disorder is an 18-year resident of Henry County, and will be Spero Health’s lead physician and medical director at this location.
Speaking about Spero Health and the Hope Center, Dr. Gatewood said, “Many of our community members struggle with addiction to opiates and other drugs, and this area in particular has been flooded with illicit substances and frequent overdose. Spero Health’s priority is to meet individuals where they are in their addiction and tailor a treatment plan to meet their specific needs. Individuals become stabilized through a process involving counseling, support, supervision, and medical assisted therapy. The Hope Center, which has been in the works for a long time, is the result of a huge amount of community support and acknowledgement of the need for local resources for individuals and families struggling with addiction.”
Spero Health utilizes an evidence-based integrated care model that combines both physical and behavioral healthcare services to treat the whole patient. This integrated care model combines physician services (including medication-assisted treatment), behavioral health counseling, recovery support services, medication management and patient and family education.
Steve Priest, CEO of Spero Health, said, “Spero’s mission is to Save Lives, Instill Hope and Restore Relationships. This new community-based center has the potential to transform health, social, and economic outcomes in the community for people most at risk. Access to life-saving addiction treatment is often a barrier for many families seeking help. We are proud to be part of the solution in Eminence, KY.”
A grand opening celebration for the Hope Center is slated for March 28th starting with a 5K Run/Walk for Hope at 9am, followed by ribbon cutting and open house.
