MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif.--()--Tricentis, the leader in continuous testing for DevOps, announced that it has appointed Dr. Grigori Melnik as Chief Product Officer. Melnik, a seasoned product executive most recently with MongoDB, has launched numerous software products, managed globally-distributed teams and will be responsible for leading Tricentis’ Product and R&D effort. The appointment of Melnik is the second in just a few months as the company adds seasoned veterans from top tier companies to the executive team, having previously just added marketing executive Brent Remai from AWS as the CMO.

Tricentis is the world leader in automated continuous testing and is rapidly expanding its testing leadership into the broader category of enterprise automation, one of the fastest growing markets in technology. In 2019, Tricentis surpassed $100M in annual recurring revenue (ARR). This milestone is the result of continued innovation in artificial intelligence and resilient automation, strategic acquisitions, extensive investment in customer success programs, and thriving partnerships with system integrators as well as technical partners.

“As we continue our goal of accelerating digital transformation, I am pleased to welcome Grigori to the Tricentis team,” said Sandeep Johri, CEO, Tricentis. “The traditional ways of developing and delivering software aren’t sufficient for meeting the new demands brought about by the speed of digital transformation. Having an industry veteran like Grigori at the helm of product innovation will allow us to continue to deliver industry-leading testing and robotics process automation (RPA) solutions for today’s enterprise.”

During his tenure at MongoDB as Vice President of Products, Melnik managed the Database Server and Enterprise Tools portfolio, disrupting the $80B database market with products at the very edge of modern technologies. In his role, Melnik accelerated the path to distributed transactions, which elevated MongoDB’s narrative to the enterprise level and contributed to doubling of the annual revenue and company’s market capitalization in less than a year. Prior to MongoDB, Melnik was responsible for the Splunk app platform and ignited Splunk’s developer ecosystem, helping the company reach its first $1B in annual revenue. Melnik also spent almost a decade at Microsoft advancing programming tools and frameworks with a reputation for bringing a number of design patterns to the mainstream and building the first autoscaling engine for Microsoft Azure.

“Having worked in the industry for nearly three decades, I have seen the rate of change and feel that the testing and RPA industries are on the cusp of something explosive,” said Melnik. “I look forward to bringing my expertise to Tricentis as we help enterprises innovate faster by enabling them to accelerate their software delivery and provide an enhanced customer experience.”

Melnik is an internationally recognized expert and speaker on agile methods, platform & ecosystem development, test-driven design, and software testing. He has authored eight books and numerous publications and has been recognized with NSERC, the Microsoft Gold Star, the Environmental Sustainability Action Award and multiple other awards. He holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Calgary where he periodically lectures.
