WASHINGTON--()--Guidepost Solutions, a global leader in compliance, investigations and security consulting, today announced the hiring of Kenneth Mendelson, CISSP, CIPP, PCIP as a senior managing director. Mendelson is an experienced consulting executive working for more than 25 years at the intersection of law, information technology and public policy. He specializes in compliance matters related to the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS) and Team Telecom.

With the expansion of CFIUS and government regulators’ increasing scrutiny of international transactions, Ken will be a valued resource to help our clients mitigate potential risks and successfully navigate regulatory challenges,” said Julie Myers Wood, CEO, Guidepost Solutions. “His strong background in cybersecurity and data privacy, as both an attorney and investigator, make him an ideal fit for the Guidepost Solutions team and we are thrilled to have him working with us.”

Prior to joining Guidepost Solutions, Mendelson operated his own consulting firm, where he provided specialized services related to cybersecurity/incident response, electronic discovery, digital forensics and investigations with an emphasis on transactions coming before the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS) and Team Telecom.

Mendelson spent much of his career at a specialized risk management firm, where he began as a deputy general counsel and later became managing director. He originated and managed consulting engagements involving incident response, cybersecurity assessment, digital forensics, electronic discovery, investigations, and intellectual-property-related services. He also initiated and established a practice group that focused on CFIUS and Team Telecom compliance, mitigation, monitoring and auditing matters.

Earlier in his career, Mendelson served as counsel on the U.S. Senate Select Committee on POW/MIA Affairs, where he conducted an intensive private sector-oversight investigation into matters relating to POW/MIA organizations, including the dissemination of false and misleading information, and fraudulent fundraising. He was also counsel on the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on the Judiciary, where he advised Chairman Jack Brooks on a wide range of legal and policy issues, including digital telephony, computer security, encryption, and new technology.

Mendelson is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional, a Certified Information Privacy Professional, and is certified as a Payment Card Industry Professional. He also holds two patents for computer program products that detect access to a memory device.

Mendelson received his Juris Doctor from Boston University School of Law, a Master of Science in Broadcast Administration from Boston University, and a Bachelor of Arts, cum laude, from the University of Pennsylvania
