DANA POINT, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Royal Hawaiian Orchards, a leading grower and processor of Hawaiian macadamia nuts, announced today that it continues to offer sports teams and individuals alike a way to fuel their bodies and recover better with its heart-healthy line of snacks. With nine unique flavors including three organic and a variety of package sizes, Royal Hawaiian Orchards nuts can be found in gyms, yoga studios and training tables across the country. Notable organizations such as Tampa Bay's and Houston’s professional football teams, NCAA sports nutrition programs and a multitude of strength and endurance competitors, such as Iron-woman Rebecca McKee and others have discovered the benefits of macadamia nuts and offered them to their athletes.
In 2017, the United States Food & Drug Administration (FDA) approved a petition filed by Royal Hawaiian Orchards to claim that consuming macadamia nuts can help reduce the risk of coronary heart disease under certain circumstances. In part, the FDA agreed that research shows that eating 1.5 ounces of macadamia nuts per day, as part of a diet low in saturated fat and cholesterol and not resulting in increased intake of saturated fat or calories, may reduce the risk of coronary heart disease.
“The nutritional qualities of Royal Hawaiian Orchard macadamias are numerous and provide good fatty acids, protein and offers anyone with fitness goals in 2020 a new way to enjoy clean eating,” said K.C.
