CHATTANOOGA, Tenn.--()--U.S. Xpress, a subsidiary of U.S. Xpress Enterprises, Inc. (NYSE: USX), celebrates 10 years of partnership with Wreaths Across America, honoring armed forces through coordinated wreath-laying each holiday season. This year, U.S. Xpress and its employees will again participate in National Wreaths Across America Day on Saturday, December 14, by laying more than 6,000 wreaths on graves at Chattanooga National Cemetery.

Throughout the 10-year tenure, volunteer employees from U.S. Xpress have laid tens of thousands of wreaths in Chattanooga to honor local armed forces, and the company has transported wreaths to cemeteries nationwide. This year, U.S. Xpress is participating in Wreaths Across America’s first-ever international transport, bringing wreaths to John F. Kennedy International Airport which will eventually be delivered to the Netherlands American Cemetery and Memorial.

“It is an honor to be able to help memorialize the soldiers who have served our country,” said Eric Fuller, CEO of U.S. Xpress. “Named a Military Friendly employer for three consecutive years, we proudly support all branches of service through our 9/11 GI Bill® Apprenticeship Program, advanced rate of pay program and partnership with Operation Freedom Dogs. Participation in Wreaths Across America is one more way we can show our reverence for those who have served.”

National Wreaths Across America Day is celebrated across more than 2,100 locations in all 50 states, including Arlington National Cemetery. In addition to participating in transports to Tennessee and the Netherlands, U.S. Xpress will also be delivering wreaths to national cemeteries in Bath, N.Y. and Horseheads, N.Y.

“We are thankful to U.S. Xpress for being a valued partner for 10 years,” said Don Queeney, Director of Transportation, Wreaths Across America. “The generous contributions of our partners is what allows us to move the mission to communities across the country and bring people together each December to Remember, Honor and Teach.”

Locally in Chattanooga, U.S. Xpress employees, along with more than a dozen area volunteer organizations, will spend the morning unloading and distributing wreaths across Army, Marines, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard, Merchant Marine and POW/MIA gravesites. The December 14 ceremony will also include a keynote address from LTC Anthony Miller, U.S. Army.
