Answering the Call: Industry to Share Expertise at SIPNOC 2019

From its leadership position in the deployment of the nation’s Calling Number Verification Service, iconectiv will discuss how service providers and companies can ensure customers answer the call

BRIDGEWATER, N.J.--()--With the industry firmly focused on radically reducing illegal robocalls, experts will gather at SIPNOC 2019 on December 3 to further address this critical issue. With 76% of all unidentified phone calls left unanswered, consumers and enterprises are looking to service providers to ensure that legitimate businesses are getting their calls answered by consumers.

SIPNOC 2019 will be 100% focused on the new ATIS-SIP Forum SHAKEN framework which will help mitigate the illegal robocall epidemic and strengthen consumer trust in voice telecommunications. A core component to the strategy is the roll-out of the nation’s Calling Number Verification Service that will allow calling numbers to be verified. As a result, enterprises will need to ensure that their legitimate calls receive the appropriate verification so that consumers answer their calls once again.

As policy administrator for the Calling Number Verification Service and a provider of trusted communications solutions, iconectiv has key speakers at the event including Gary Richenaker, Principal Solutions Architect, and Mary Barnes, Senior Advisor, Industry Solutions. Richenaker will highlight wider industry issues to effectively ensure that calls from legitimate businesses are properly authenticated. Barnes will discuss details of the Secure Telephony Identity (STI) Calling Number Verification Service and Certificate Management and iconectiv’s role as the policy administrator.

Conference attendees will also learn how service providers can not only help authenticate legitimate calls from business customers but also provide enhancements such as displaying a verified brand name or logo to allow consumers to make a more informed decision about whether to answer.
