Induction into The CMO Hall of Fame is the world's premier CMO honor and is based on a marketing executive's demonstrated leadership in marketing innovation and driving the enterprise's growth agenda over the course of a career. The Hall of Fame inductees, voted in by peer CMOs in the club, have had a major impact on their companies and on the profession of marketing.
Anne's roots in advertising began in earnest with a 14-year career at advertising firm Hill Holliday where she was Executive Producer, then led creative services and finally account management for the agency, before joining Fleet as Chief Marketing Officer in 1995. During her past two decades leading global marketing, communications, and data and analytics, Anne focused on building and protecting Bank of America's brand, including leading the efforts to repair the company's reputation after the financial crisis.
Today as Vice Chairman, she leads the strategic positioning of Bank of America and the company’s Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG), Capital Deployment and Public Policy work. She also serves as Chairman of the board of Bank of America Europe. Throughout her career, Anne has used her advertising and marketing background as a force for creativity and positive change ― helping make the world a better place.
In addition to the CMO Hall of Fame induction, Anne has received numerous professional and public service accolades. Most recently, she received the Edward M. Kennedy Institute for Inspired Leadership award in October, was inducted into the 2019 Advertising Hall of Fame by the American Advertising Federation, and she is regularly named on Fortune, Forbes, and American Banker’s Most Powerful Women lists.
“I am honored to be inducted into The CMO Hall of Fame and to join some of the world’s most innovative and creative leaders,” said Anne Finucane. “Creativity and innovation form the thread that bind us across industries – and are essential to the work of today’s CMO.”
The CMO Club will host a CMO Awards dinner in NYC on Tuesday, Nov. 12th, to honor Anne and formally induct her into the Hall of Fame. Additionally, 40 winners of the 2019 CMO Awards will be honored at The CMO Awards dinner. Prior to the dinner, Anne and the CMO Award winners will participate in an exclusive, CMO-only roundtable to share insights on getting ready for 2020 as marketing leaders.
"The CMO Awards and CMO Hall of Fame were conceived by brand leaders in The CMO Club, and their selection of Anne Finucane continues the legacy of innovation and excellence of CMO Hall of Fame Inductees. I'm looking forward to honoring Anne and the other CMO category winners on Nov. 12th, which will be the most impressive gathering of CMOs in the history of the club," noted CMO Club Founder and CEO Pete Krainik.
