SOMERSET, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--CompoSecure, a pioneer and global leader in the design and manufacturing of premium financial cards, recently received awards from two organizations for its contributions to the local community.
Roots & Wings, which empowers young adults who age out of New Jersey’s foster care system with the vital services and support systems necessary to achieve self-sufficiency, honored CompoSecure with the 2019 Irene DeGrandpre Award for its seven years of involvement with the organization. The award was presented at the 20th Anniversary Roots & Wings Rise and Fly Gala. CompoSecure CEO Jon Wilk accepted the award on behalf of the company.
“Though CompoSecure’s business reach is international, we remain deeply connected to the local community,” said Wilk. “We believe it is critical that we nurture this relationship by lending our employees’ time as well as financial support to help the organizations making an impact here in New Jersey.”
CompoSecure was also honored with a Community Service Award at New Jersey Business and Industry Association (NJBIA)’s 2019 Awards for Excellence Reception on October 29. The award recognized the various ways CompoSecure and its employees gave back to the community by conducting food drives, volunteering at fundraising events, donating resources and equipment, and participating in mentoring programs. CompoSecure Executive Chairman and Co-Founder Michele Logan accepted the award on behalf of the company.
“Business leaders play a critical role in giving back,” said Logan. “Big or small, a business is part of the community it serves. The success of a business and its community are intertwined, and only together, can long-term growth be sustained.”

About Roots & Wings
Founded in 1999 by Irene DeGrandpre, Roots & Wings began as a community-based volunteer operation. Intending to provide an intensive, life-changing program focusing on the empowerment of education and the development of critically necessary life skills, R&W volunteers established a residential program to support these young people as they transition from foster care to independence. Through housing (RISE) and case management (FLY), it provides the safety net protecting its clients and greatly reducing their risk of lifetime poverty and hardship. Clients leave R&W having broken the cycle of poverty, abuse and despair that research shows often continues generation after generation absent intensive outside intervention.
