Marqeta Hires Vidya Peters As First Chief Marketing Officer, as Company Continues to Build Out Expansive Global Vision

Vidya will be a key addition to the executive team as the company’s first Chief Marketing Officer, joining Marqeta from MuleSoft

OAKLAND, Calif.--()--Marqeta, the first global modern card issuing platform, today announced the addition of Chief Marketing Officer Vidya Peters to its executive team.

Vidya, who recently served as Chief Marketing Officer of MuleSoft, will be responsible for the company’s global marketing efforts driving the strategy and execution in marketing including brand, PR, corporate marketing, product marketing, events and demand generation. She will report directly to founder and CEO Jason Gardner. She joins Marqeta at a time of strong global growth for the company, as it expects to double its revenue for a fourth straight year and grow its headcount past 400 by the end of 2019.

Vidya joins Marqeta from MuleSoft where she led its 100+ person global marketing team to establish MuleSoft as a category creator with an integrated go-to-market strategy across product, field and demand generation. She helped scale the business from pre-IPO into one of the most successful and fastest growing public enterprise software companies, and later through one of the most significant enterprise acquisitions in terms of shareholder value. Before MuleSoft, Vidya held a number of leadership roles at Intuit and was a strategy consultant at Bain & Company.

Vidya earned her MPA from Harvard University, an MBA in marketing and finance from the Kellogg School of Management and a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from Northwestern University. She is also a member of the Northwestern University Council of 100, a group of highly-successful female alumnae committed to furthering the careers of other Northwestern alums.
