Superior Essex Partners with NASCAR Xfinity Series Racecar Driver Noah Gragson and Unveils Redesigned Vehicle for NASCAR First Playoffs Race

ATLANTA--()--Superior Essex Communications, the leading manufacturer and supplier of communications cable in North America, is proud to partner with professional racecar driver Noah Gragson as he competes in his first full-time season racing in the NASCAR Xfinity Series (NXS) as a member of JR Motorsports.

“We’ve been working with Noah since early on in his professional racing career, and we couldn’t be prouder to take our partnership to the next level by supporting him as he drives the No. 9 Superior Essex racecar in the NASCAR NXS Playoffs,” said Brian Ensign, Vice President of Marketing, Superior Essex Communications. “Noah is an immensely talented driver and a great brand ambassador, and we are excited to grow with him as he continues his already successful racing career.”

Gragson began racing at just 13 years of age, and coming off his stellar 2018 season, expectations are high for him this year. He enters the opening round of the 2019 NXS Playoffs as the eighth seed, just 50 points shy of the series lead. The 20-year-old driver races with a championship-caliber team behind him as begins his pursuit of both the championship cup and the Rookie of the Year title. The NXS Playoffs begin on Friday, September 20, at 7:30 p.m. ET, taking place under the lights at Richmond Raceway in Virginia.

“I’m ready to get the playoffs started this weekend in Richmond,” said Gragson. “I’ve always really enjoyed racing there; we came close to getting the win there last year; and we had good speed with our No. 9 Superior Essex / Switch / JRM Chevrolet earlier this year. Hopefully, we can unload with that same speed on Friday and keep this positive momentum going. We all know what’s on the line now, so we just need to go out, execute and do our jobs.”

Additionally, in honor of the start of NXS Playoffs, Superior Essex Communications is excited to unveil the new look of the redesigned No. 9 Chevrolet Camaro that will race this weekend at Richmond Raceway, an International Speedway Corporation (ISC) track, where Superior Essex optical fiber cable enables communications to the track’s massive scoreboard and handles other communications needs as well. The vehicle’s new look prominently features Superior Essex logos on the hood, rear quarter panels and other locations on the racecar, as well as displays our partnerships with JR Motorsports and Switch data centers.
