SAN FRANCISCO--()--Faire, the startup changing the future of retail, has announced today that Lauren Cooks Levitan has been appointed as the company’s first Chief Financial Officer. Lauren brings more than 20 years of strategic, financial, and operational experience at the most transformative brands in retail to Faire, a curated wholesale marketplace connecting more than 45,000 local retailers with thousands of emerging and established brands.

Prior to joining Faire, Lauren was most recently the CFO at Fanatics, where she oversaw accounting, financial planning, strategic analysis, and investor relations to drive ongoing multi-channel growth across all divisions of the company. While at Fanatics, Lauren played an important role in the company’s substantial growth and diversification from 2015 through 2019. She helped the multi-channel licensed sports leader secure multiple financing rounds including equity stakes from the NFL and MLB, and oversaw the integration of six strategic acquisitions.

We are thrilled to welcome Lauren to the executive team here at Faire. Throughout her career, she has played a critical role in the future of retail, leading brands through substantial milestones,” said Max Rhodes, Faire co-founder and CEO. “Her background and expertise will help us strengthen and scale our company both efficiently and sustainably, as we work to empower entrepreneurs to chase their dreams.”

Lauren joins Faire after a period of remarkable growth for the company. In December 2018, Faire announced $100M in venture capital, and since the beginning of 2019, the marketplace has grown from 20,000 retailers to more than 45,000 local retailers — more locations than any other North American retailer. Faire recently opened its third office in Salt Lake City and has grown its total headcount across the U.S. and Canada to 155 people.

A long-time advocate for women-owned businesses and women in leadership, Lauren has served on the Advisory Committee of the Stanford GSB’s Women’s Initiative Network (WIN) and was Co-Chair of the Duke University Northern California Women’s Forum. She has served on the board of directors (Audit Committee member) for e.l.f. Beauty, Inc. (NYSE: ELF) since 2016. She holds an MBA from Stanford University and a BA in Political Science from Duke University. She will be based in Faire’s San Francisco office.
