SAN FRANCISCO--()--Hearsay Systems, the trusted leader in compliant digital communications and workflow solutions for the financial services industry, today announced the appointment of Alex Falls as Vice President of Product. Falls adds over two decades of experience delivering product vision, strategy, and execution transforming the insurance and financial services industry. His background encompasses core systems, CRM, and analytics. At Hearsay, he will be responsible for new product development as the company continues to double-down on enabling financial services relationship managers and insurance agents to be proactive, systematic, and human in service of clients and prospects.

“Alex has tremendous, highly relevant experience that will help Hearsay continue to innovate for our customers,” said Clara Shih, Hearsay CEO and founder. “At Guidewire, he led the financial industry’s back-office transformation, delivering industry-changing core systems across billing, policy, and claims management. At Hearsay, he will lead the financial industry’s front-office transformation as we deliver insurance and wealth management workflows and analytics to allow field distribution to become more systematic while enhancing rather than replacing the human touch.”

Falls comes to Hearsay from Guidewire Software, Inc. (NYSE: GWRE), the global leader in core systems, digital engagement, and data and analytics for property and casualty insurers. He was instrumental in Guidewire’s rise, serving in multiple capacities over the course of his 14-year tenure. Most recently, he spent five years as Vice President of Product Management, a post in which he was recognized for building and evangelizing Guidewire’s cloud transformation strategy to reinvent non-SaaS products as cloud-native products and solutions. Falls also led the organization in unveiling broader solutions instead of focusing on singular products in order to meet market needs. Through this effort, he unified product vision and strategy across groups of both related and unrelated products.

“Hearsay has been at the cutting edge of financial services from the start,” said Falls, new Vice President of Product at Hearsay Systems. “The company is moving the industry into the future with compelling solutions that work together to solve complex issues while helping advisors and agents improve relationships with clients and prospects. I can’t wait to work with this outstanding team as we transform the financial services industry.”

Falls joins Hearsay as the company expands product development. Over the last year, Hearsay unveiled multiple solutions recognized by the financial services industry as superior, innovative and forward-thinking. The company also recently announced new integration capabilities for its expansive content library, making it simple for customers to deliver rich, customizable content to their clients. Additionally, its recently launched Agent Actions, an engagement workflow automation solution designed to improve business outcomes by extending best practice enterprise workflows to agents, was deployed to customers such as American Family Insurance. The Hearsay Relate compliant voice and text product also added tens of thousands of users since its debut in November, and new features such as Dynamic Campaigns were deployed to assist marketing administrators in conducting always-on personalized campaigns that publish content automatically on behalf of advisors or agents.

Prior to Guidewire, Falls served in management roles at Epiphany and Clarify, leading the early wave of customer relationship management (CRM) software development. He holds a B.S. in political science from Washington University in St. Louis.
