LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--SierraConstellation Partners (SCP), a national interim management and advisory firm to middle-market companies in transition, announced today that Carl Moore has joined the firm as a Managing Director. Moore will be based in Dallas, where he will work closely with SCP’s established Houston office to grow the firm’s presence in the Southwest Region.
“Larry and the team have built a great firm at SCP, and I’m looking forward to making an impact as the company continues to grow,” said Moore. “Restructuring is a space I know intimately from my tenure in distressed and private equity investment management, particularly the Dallas and southwestern U.S. markets where I have worked for over two decades. There is a rich vein of middle market firms in this region who need the operational and financial expertise SCP offers to restructure their businesses for survival and growth.”
Moore has over twenty years of experience in distressed investing, private equity portfolio management, corporate turnarounds, M&A, and strategic planning. Before joining SCP, Moore was a Managing Director at Highland Capital Management in Dallas, serving as Co-Head of Highland’s Private Equity Group. Moore spent over 15 years at the firm, where he served on the investment committee of the group’s healthcare-focused $150M private equity fund and co-managed a restructuring team of legal and investment professionals dedicated to the firm’s $25B leveraged loan and high-yield bond portfolio during the financial crisis.
Prior to his time at Highland Capital, Moore was an associate at Brobeck, Phleger & Harrison working on financing and M&A transactions for emerging growth technology companies. Earlier in his career, Moore worked as an associate at Looper, Reed & McGraw and as a CPA in the tax division of Coopers & Lybrand.
“Carl is an incredibly impressive leader in the private equity industry, and I’m honored to have him join us at SCP,” said Larry Perkins, SCP Founder and CEO. “Carl has spent nearly his whole career on the front lines of financing, operating, and restructuring businesses, particularly in the middle market. We have known Carl for years and have worked with him on numerous assignments, so we have no doubt that he will make an immediate impact on our clients and our firm. We remain committed to the Southwest market, and between Carl and our newly appointed Houston office leader Basil Karampelas, I believe we have the most competitive middle-market offering in the region.”
A lifelong Texan, Moore holds a BA in the Plan II Honors Program and a BBA in Finance from the University of Texas at Austin, and a J.D. from the University of Houston Law Center.
