MINNEAPOLIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Great Clips®, the world’s largest salon brand, recently announced that up to $400,000 USD will be donated to over 100 deserving schools across the U.S. and Canada as a result of the company’s Back-to-School campaign.
To kick off the donations, Great Clips will visit P.S. 111 Adolph S. Ochs Elementary School located in New York City’s Hell’s Kitchen today to hand-deliver supplies to students and participate in a check presentation celebration. Special guests, including baseball superstar Noah Syndergaard and Great Clips Mohawk Warrior® Monster Jam® driver Bryce Kenny, will meet with students and staff to get kids excited for the upcoming school year. Through its partnership with Monster Jam, the Great Clips Mohawk Warrior truck will also make an appearance.
Great Clips, Inc. will present a check for $40,000 to the school’s principal, Edward Gilligan, during the event. Mr. Gilligan indicated that the donation will be used to provide monthly hot meals to students and families that live in temporary housing and fund extracurricular initiatives such as an after-school drama club and an African-inspired music and dance program.

In July, Great Clips pledged to donate $1 to schools for every download of the Great Clips Online Check-In app from August 1 through September 8 that could be used for supplies, enrichment programming or other critical needs of the school. Throughout September, Great Clips will issue awards of various sizes across the U.S. and Canada, including $25,000 to seven schools in Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas/Fort Worth, Denver, Los Angeles, Seattle and Vancouver.
