LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Gwinnett Clinic, Ltd., a pioneer in high-value outpatient care, is pleased to announce the expansion of primary care services at its hub location in Lawrenceville, GA and the recruitment of two senior physicians to its multispecialty group.
A market leader in primary and specialty care, Gwinnett Clinic (GC) has increased its primary care capacity by 50% at its Lawrenceville headquarters (475 Philip Blvd., Lawrenceville, GA 30046). GC Lawrenceville is a multi-specialty site in the heart of Gwinnett County with eighteen satellite primary care clinics in and around Gwinnett. Dr. JJ Shah, CEO & President, explained: "For the past few years, our primary care physicians and nurse practitioners have been making do with limited square footage. We are pleased to welcome patients to a brand new clinical space on our third floor. This area was previously used for administrative work, but we relocated those offices to increase access for our patients. Patients and their families will enjoy more rooms that are larger and more private."
Gwinnett Clinic has also recruited two new senior clinicians this summer, expanding access to cardiology and primary care. Dr. Andrew M. Cross, Jr., board-certified in cardiology, is a seasoned cardiologist who has worked in both hospital and outpatient settings. He will join Dr. Anthony Pothoulakis, author of Arteries in Harmony, in the GC Cardiology group. Dr. Pothoulakis shared their vision: “Our department focuses on prevention as well as management of new and chronic heart conditions – we support our primary care colleagues in a practice-wide effort to keep patients healthy and out of the hospital.” Dr. Richard B. Goodjoin, board-certified internist, brings over twenty years of primary care expertise to GC. He will be practicing in Duluth, Lawrenceville, and Webb Gin. "These physicians share our passion for high-value multispecialty care with a strong primary care foundation," said Dr. Shah.
Gwinnett Clinic was founded in 1983 and has been a trendsetter in the delivery of outpatient care. It was among the first practices in metro Atlanta to offer same-day and walk-in visits, direct scheduling with in-house specialists, and onsite imaging, laboratory, physical therapy, and pharmacy services. GC patients avoid urgent care and emergency room costs by having easy access to doctors they know and trust in a comprehensive care model. The practice is independently owned and managed by local physicians.
