AMHERST, Mass.--()--OrthoLite, the global leader and manufacturer of comfort and performance insole technology, today announces the hiring of Rob Falken as Vice President of Global Innovation. Falken, who has deep expertise in sustainable product development and holds more than a dozen pending and granted patents, will help OrthoLite with its continued efforts in developing eco-conscious products that not only help the footwear industry introduce more responsible products, but also help answer consumer demand for products that protect our environment.

In his nearly 20-year career, Falken has brought numerous game-changing, environmentally-minded innovations to life, playing a role in every aspect of the process from invention to sourcing and supply chain management. Expertly skilled in bioplastic development, rigid and flexible foams, as well as global sourcing, Falken’s passion for effecting change and disruptive innovation will help build upon the efforts OrthoLite has made in the sustainability space.

“Since day one, OrthoLite has prioritized sustainable processes and product, bringing forth solutions that give our brand partners the ability to address consumer demand for eco-conscious footwear,” said Glenn Barrett, CEO of OrthoLite. “Bringing on Rob Falken was a no-brainer for a variety of reasons, though we were particularly excited by Rob’s experience in foam, having conceptualized and co-developing the world’s lightest and most buoyant flotation foam. We know he’ll be a huge asset as we work toward our ultimate goal of zero waste manufacturing.”

American owned and operated, OrthoLite is a totally vertically integrated manufacturer of insole technology as well as a chemical systems-house producing proprietary open cell polyurethane formulations. Committed to quality products and the environment, OrthoLite makes investments other insole makers don’t – including owning and operating its own manufacturing facilities, opening new recycling facilities and controlling chemical systems in-house. OrthoLite open cell comfort and performance insole technology retains its long-lasting cushioning, unmatched breathability and moisture management for the lifetime of a shoe. For these reasons, OrthoLite has continued to be the open cell foam brand of choice for more than 400 shoe brands.
