YONGZHOU, HUNAN PROVINCE, China--(BUSINESS WIRE)--TÜV Rheinland Group (hereinafter referred to as “TÜV Rheinland”), a leading international third-party testing, inspection, and certification organization, attended the opening ceremony of the First IETP Family-Friendly Spaces (FFS) at Hunan Yongzhou Meiyuanda Toys Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as“Meiyuanda”). Susan Zhang, Vice General Manager of TÜV Rheinland Greater China Systems Customized Services, attended the ceremony and delivered an opening speech. Among the other invited attendees at the ceremony were McDonald's agent TMS and ICTI Toy Industry Responsibility Regulations (hereinafter referred to as "IETP"), including 25 children and 24 parents.
In her address, Susan Zhang said: "TÜV Rheinland has always actively participated in the practice of corporate social responsibility. We are now supporting FFS for the second year, which we hope can improve the parent-child relationship of toy workers and their children, so as to foster the healthy development of body and mind for children."
According to Si Changchun, the individual in charge of Meiyuanda’s First IETP FFS, 95 children were enrolled after the project was kicked off. It shows that the project is necessary and welcomed. A total of 25 children were selected based on family situation. During the opening ceremony, Jin Zhiping, the head of Meiyuanda, promised that he will continue to organize and expand the scale of FFS next year in order to accommodate the needs of parent workers during the next summer vacation.
Since 2016, the IETP has piloted FFS programs in 2 factories in Mainland China. Expansion of the project has continued, facilitating reunions between migrant workers and their left-behind children, which also brings myriad benefits to the factories. This year there are most factory joined this program; 31 factories are participating in the Happy Summer Program, allowing 1,500 parents to spend more time with 1,200 children during the summer holiday. TÜV Rheinland and other buyer members will continue to provide support to enable more factories to participate in the FFS Program.
