Back-to-School Season: Dust Off the Summer Cobwebs with Resources & Activities from PestWorldForKids.org

Going back to school isn’t so hard when the learning is fun!

FAIRFAX, Va.--()--Summer break always goes by in the blink of an eye, but during that time students can lose some of the knowledge they spent all year gaining. The National Pest Management Association (NPMA) is proud to provide materials on its children’s website, PestWorldForKids.org, to help parents, teachers and kids avoid the summer slump and start off the school year on the right foot. Designed for students from Pre-K to 8th grade, PestWorldForKids.org offers a safe and fun educational environment with activities that make learning about insects and other animals an adventure.

“PestWorldForKids.org serves as a valuable resource that teachers and parents can use to educate children and introduce them to the exotic world of bugs and critters,” said Cindy Mannes, vice president of public affairs for NPMA. “Parents can create a classroom in their own backyard with Critters Crafts and Pest Guides while teachers can bolster their fall curriculum with unique lesson plans and science fair kits.”

Categorized by grade level, the resources on PestWorldForKids.org introduce students to the world of pests in a fun and exciting way, perfect for classroom lessons and at-home activities alike. All educational materials on the website support education standards from the National Science Teachers Association (NSTA) and National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE). Students can apply their knowledge and put their skills to the test as junior entomologists with science fair kits, quizzes, and fun games such as Bug Builder and Pest Detective. During back-to-school season, there’s something for everyone on PestWorldForKids.org and new materials are regularly added to the site.
