CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Prudential Capital Group has renamed its global investment business as PGIM Private Capital. With over $86 billion in assets under management (as of March 31, 2019), the business is the private capital arm of PGIM, the $1.2 trillion global investment management business of Prudential Financial, Inc. (NYSE: PRU).

PGIM Private Capital manages nearly $18 billion in non-affiliated assets through its Institutional Asset Management unit and Alternatives unit, comprised of Direct Lending, PGIM Capital Partners and PGIM Energy Partners. Since 2000, the firm has raised a collective $5.6 billion in six mezzanine funds, including its first energy mezzanine fund, and invested $4.7 billion in 162 companies.
