The Ezy Dose Medi-Spout, invented by Robert Pontius, is a pill assisting bottle cap that helps make swallowing pills easier and less stressful. Users attach the product to a water bottle and then place a pill through the attachment before proceeding to drink. The unique design of the bottle cap ensures that the beverage and the pill mix together in the user’s mouth, allowing the pill to be ingested without incident.
The inability for patients to swallow pills is a widespread issue, with a nationwide survey conducted by Harris Interactive finding that 40 percent of American adults have experienced difficulty swallowing pills, even though most have had no problems swallowing food or liquid.
