NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The New York chapter of the National Investor Relations Institute (NIRI NY) held its annual meeting on Wednesday, June 19, at which it announced the newly elected chapter officers and directors for the 2019-2020 term and shared the highlights of a successful 2018-2019 season.
“It has been an honor to serve as president of NIRI NY this year. Over the course of the season, we hosted over 900 attendees at a variety of programs including our Strategic IRO series to develop a framework for our members to address strategy, governance, social, environmental and other advancing agendas throughout the investment community,” said Katie Royce, outgoing president of NIRI NY and global head of investor relations, Cognizant. “We believe our innovative programming and unique networking opportunities helped support our nearly 95 percent membership retention, an achievement recently recognized by NIRI. I am proud to pass the baton to Alexandra Deignan, who will assume the role as chapter president this season to build on our strong foundation. During Alexandra’s tenure on the board, she has been instrumental in the development and execution of the chapter’s strategy and goals through her contributions on the programs and communications committees.”
Newly elected NIRI NY Board President Alexandra Deignan commented, “I’m excited and privileged to lead the NIRI NY board in its mission to provide valuable, dynamic programs for our members. This year’s board is comprised of highly skilled IR professionals with diverse areas of expertise and fresh thinking to advance the professional development and networking opportunities offered to our New York chapter. I look forward to serving alongside this team throughout the 2019–2020 season. We would also like to thank outgoing board members Becky Updegraph and Darin Arita for their many years of service, leadership and significant contributions to the chapter.”
