BREA, Calif.--()--Silverado’s newest memory care community, located at 149 W. Lambert Road, is currently on track to welcome its first residents this summer. Silverado Brea, a nearly 34,000 square foot, two-story community, features innovative design elements specifically to provide better care for individuals living with Alzheimer’s, dementia and other memory-impairing diseases. This opening marks the fourth Silverado community in Orange County, joining their locations in Tustin, Costa Mesa and San Juan Capistrano. About 200 people have been working on the project through its development, and once fully operational, the community will create 70 new healthcare-related jobs.

“What’s most significant about this new community development is that it represents new hope for local families affected by dementia and Alzheimer’s, where they can experience our innovative model of care that includes our prominent Nexus® brain-health program,” shares Silverado President, Chairman and CEO Loren B. Shook. “We have always had a strong presence here in Orange County, along with numerous supportive professional partners, and we are proud of the growth this new location brings.”

In addition to industry-leading clinical outcomes paired with skilled and compassionate associates, Silverado Brea will also continue the company’s focus on brain health, especially in the early stages of dementia, through Esprit – a new club inside select Silverado communities that combines brain-health programming with active, experiential living at its best. It’s the ideal setting for individuals with mild cognitive impairment who enjoy the independence within a secure environment. Esprit builds upon the internationally recognized Nexus at Silverado evidence-based brain-health program. This non-drug approach has been shown to improve quality of life, cognition and function for many people in the earlier stages of living with dementia. Research has shown that participants showed a 60 percent improvement in cognition when compared to those without such treatment. In May, Silverado received the Innovation Award by the Association for Corporate Growth (ACG) Orange County, specifically for the Nexus program.

The $12 million community in Brea sits on 1.15 acres and includes state-of-the-art design elements, including skylights and sunrooms to draw in natural light and warmth, and comfortable spaces for social interaction. Also incorporated into the design are a coffeehouse style bistro, beauty salon and spa. The outdoor courtyard, with its covered patios and walkways, will allow residents to move freely among the gardens.
