ThousandEyes Wins Inaugural Network Computing ‘Editors Innovation Award’

ThousandEyes Recognized for Addressing “A Perennial But Completely Evolved Networking Challenge from a Fresh and Innovative Perspective”

LONDON--()--ThousandEyes, the company that delivers visibility into the Internet and digital experiences, today announced it has been awarded the inaugural 2019 Editors Innovation Award by Networking Computing at their annual awards ceremony in London. The Network Computing Awards, which have been presented annually since 2007, recognize the solutions and solution providers that have helped organizations excel by getting the most out of their networks.

“As Editor of Network Computing and in my other freelance and business mentoring work, I see things that really excite me as an engineer, a businessman and technology journalist,” said Ray Smyth, Editor, Network Computing. “My work on the magazine and meetings with vendors exposes me to a lot, all of it interesting, some of it evolutionary and some game-changing. But just being clever, new or bleeding edge is one thing: being truly innovative in design, purpose, application and results, is another. I wanted to recognise such innovation and now do so in the form of the new Network Computing Editors Innovation award.”

Smyth continued, “The 2019 inaugural winner ThousandEyes has approached a perennial but completely evolved networking challenge from a fresh and innovative perspective. Importantly, they had realised that all aspects of the network had radically changed. ThousandEyes is digitally native and works at the coalface of modern networking: the network that has no boundary, is ever changing and where dependencies for all delivered services rests firmly on things that have until now, been to many of us, unknown, difficult to monitor and hard to challenge.”

“Even the on-premises served applications may need this visibility if they are to be stable and easy to manage because they all make cloud-based service calls,” Smyth added. “The fact that networks are now borderless is no surprise, but it’s not possible to map your network and all its connections unless you can do it in near real-time, because elements of network connectivity are changing frequently and in seconds, and this can affect just about everything, everywhere. I am extremely impressed with ThousandEyes: it is far more than network monitoring and its potential is breathtaking. I will watch their progress with great interest.”

This award win is the latest in a series of positive product award momentum for ThousandEyes in recent months, following the inclusion in Credit Suisse AG's inaugural Disruptive Technology Recognition Program and recognition by the SaaS Awards for Best Data-Driven SaaS Product. ThousandEyes has also been recognized over the last year by the TechWorld Techies, SIIA CODiEs, Interop ITX, Interop Japan, the Cloud Industry Forum and Computing magazine's Cloud Excellence awards.
