STAMFORD, Conn.--()--Award-winning multi-platinum artist Khalid is the latest superstar to join Team JBL. Announced today, the international musical phenom has inked a deal with JBL to represent the audio brand worldwide. As a part of his partnership with the brand, Khalid will also take top billing at the upcoming JBL Fest in Las Vegas.

Khalid’s unique songwriting, soulful sound and thoughtful perspective on modern youth culture catapulted him into massive worldwide success since he released his first single “Location” and debut album “American Teen.” His partnership with JBL comes on the heels of his hotly anticipated and critically-acclaimed sophomore release “Free Spirit,” which launched earlier this month and debuted at #1 on the Billboard Top 200.

“I’m constantly looking for ways to connect with my fans and elevate how they experience my music,” offered Khalid. “Partnering with JBL and headlining JBL Fest gives me a perfect way to do that – and with my new album out, it’s the right time. I’ve always loved JBL sound – whether pumping through an arena or in my headphones – so teaming up with JBL was an organic move for me.”

This October, Khalid will storm the stage at the third-annual JBL Fest, an immersive three-day experience drawing guests from all over the globe to Las Vegas for epic musical performances and entertainment. Khalid is the first performer to be announced for Fest, with more superstar appearances soon to be revealed.

“Khalid captures the energy of JBL,” said Ralph Santana, Chief Marketing Officer at HARMAN. “He’s an absolute original and knows how to connect to his fans through outstanding lyricism and his unmistakable delivery. He’ll electrify the crowd at JBL Fest, and we are excited to get started on a partnership that will be full of elevated experiences for Khalid fans.”

Khalid joins a star-studded lineup of JBL ambassadors and partners from music, sports, and entertainment industries including multi-platinum selling recording artist Demi Lovato; actress and humanitarian Priyanka Chopra; the most nominated musician and producer in GRAMMYs history Quincy Jones; world-renowned pianist and philanthropist Lang Lang; Indian music mogul A.R. Rahman; world renowned DJ and producer Armin van Buuren; three-time NBA Champion and two-time MVP, Stephen Curry; NBA stars Giannis Antetokounmpo and Andre Drummond; 2017 American League Rookie of the Year and MLB star Aaron Judge; and soccer star Jerome Boateng, among others. In addition to partnering with these global icons, JBL is the official sound partner of the GRAMMYs.
