PROVIDENCE, R.I.--()--Corvias, a national leader in developing, financing, and managing infrastructure assets for their public partners, today announced that Corvias innovator Greg Cannito will be speaking at the 2019 P3 Water Summit. The P3 Water Summit offers the opportunity to learn, discuss and share evolving concepts and state-of-the-art techniques in developing alternative infrastructure solutions for the water sector. Corvias works with several municipalities, including with Prince George’s County, Maryland for the Clean Water Partnership, which recently completed retrofitting of 2,000 acres ahead of schedule, under budget and with 57% County resident workforce engagement.

On Tuesday, April 23, in San Diego, CA, Cannito will address session attendees for a talk entitled, “Stormwater Solutions: Achieving Local Economic Development and Green Infrastructure through Community Based Partnerships (CBPs).” Cannito will be accompanied by moderator Francesca McCann, Business Development Director, iMG, and fellow speaker Dominique Lueckenhoff, Senior Vice President of Sustainability, Hugo Neu. The panel will discuss applying partnership solutions as a catalyst for local economic and community impact as part of state, municipal, and city initiatives for water quality management programs.

Also on Tuesday, April 23, Cannito will address session attendees for a talk entitled, “Paying for Performance - Stormwater P3s in the State of Washington: Report to Legislators on Enabling Conditions and Paying for Performance.” Cannito will be accompanied by fellow speakers Chad Praul, Partner, Water Practice Area, Environmental Incentives and Eoin Doherty, Senior Associate, Environmental Incentives. The panel will provide findings of a report commissioned by legislators to clarify P3 barriers and enabling conditions in the state.

“Leaders in the water sector are bringing much needed public attention and recognition to water infrastructure projects, by connecting them to broader community and economic impact that their ratepayers can see, value, and understand,” said Greg Cannito, Innovator at Corvias. “The goal of all of my talks at the P3 Water Summit is to showcase what a true partnership solution through a portfolio approach can do for municipalities: to access capital, de-risk delivery and ensure an increased monetary return to municipalities who need that money to reinvest in other broader social policy goals and objectives.”

On Wednesday, April 24, Cannito will address a breakfast workshop session entitled, “Building a Stormwater P3.” The goals of the workshop will be to help assess whether Stormwater P3 frameworks are appropriate, and if so, to identify the initial development steps a public champion can take from a legal, financial, and technical perspective. Cannito will be accompanied by fellow speakers with deep expertise across all of the critical areas needed to assist public sector with assessing and developing a P3 initiative:

  • Elizabeth Cousins, Partner, Nossaman LLP
  • Ken Susilo, Senior Principal, Geosyntec Consultants
  • Klair White, Senior Vice President, Ernst & Young Infrastructure Advisors LLC

“The biggest barrier for municipalities is the support and investment to drive change and different delivery solutions,” said Cannito. “Through effective partnership models, Corvias both supports and invests in government to advance what municipalities can accomplish and turns daunting and costly regulations into thriving programs with benefits beyond simple governance and improved water quality.”

The P3 Water Summit is a part of P3C, which delivers some of the largest infrastructure focused events in the country and attracts water managers, public works leaders, city managers, and industry and P3 development experts.
