UBS Names Former Congressman Jeb Hensarling Executive Vice Chairman of the Americas

  • Role focuses on building and strengthening client relationships
  • Based in Texas, Hensarling has regional responsibilities across all UBS Americas businesses

DALLAS--()--UBS today announced the appointment of former US Congressman Jeb Hensarling as Executive Vice Chairman of the Americas region. Hensarling most recently represented Texas's Fifth Congressional District in the US House of Representatives for eight terms (2003-2019). Prior to serving in Congress, he worked in both the financial services and energy industries, and practiced both corporate and real estate law. Hensarling will be based in UBS's Dallas office.

"Jeb will work closely with our leadership team, Financial Advisors and bankers to build and strengthen our most important client relationships across our businesses," said Tom Naratil, President UBS Americas and Co-President Global Wealth Management. "With a long career in both politics and business, Jeb will be a great addition to our shared efforts to deliver insights and ideas that differentiate UBS in the eyes of our clients."

“I’m looking forward to starting a new career in banking and am grateful for the opportunity to join UBS Americas," said Hensarling. "It is exciting for me to be able to join the world’s leading wealth management firm and to work with some of the most talented people in the financial services industry.”

As Chair of the House Financial Services Committee from 2013 to 2019, the Congressman was among the nation's most influential policymakers charged with reshaping the financial services industry in the years following the financial crisis. In this role, he helped oversee a broad swath of the nation’s economy, including banking, securities, insurance, housing and monetary policy. Among numerous other leadership roles, Hensarling was also elected House Republican Conference Chairman in the 112th Congress, where he was responsible for coordinating the caucus's strategy, policy, messaging and communications.
