BLANCO, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Ben Milam Whiskey has partnered with world-renowned whiskey expert and New York Times shortlisted whiskey author Heather Greene, who has taken the reigns as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Under her direction, the distillery aims to expand and celebrate the art of batching, blending, sourcing, cask finishing, and grain-to-glass distillation. Ben Milam Whiskey company will introduce Milam & Greene, a new line of premium whiskeys this summer. They will also continue to hand select and bottle the Single Barrel and Barrel Proof Ben Milam Whiskeys that made the distillery so buzz-worthy in the first place.

Last year Marlene Holmes, a 27-year whiskey distilling veteran and one of the most experienced distillers working in craft distilling in North America joined us from Jim Beam. Now whiskey expert, Heather Greene will take reigns as the CEO and blender to lead the further development of the distillery. She brings over a decade of whiskey marketing experience combined with specialized skills in batching, blending and monitoring of spirits as they age in a cask. Greene joined Ben Milam Whiskey as a blending and marketing consultant in 2018. The distillery quickly recognized the depth of her talent and made the decision to build the executive team with her as CEO. Greene will work closely with Marsha Milam, Marlene Holmes, and Jordan Osborne to build the product portfolio, and expand its market reach.

Greene was the first woman to serve on the Scotch Malt Whisky Society tasting panel in Edinburg, Scotland, served as an award-winning Scotch whisky ambassador, and is a current judge on prestigious tasting panels such as the ACSA and the ISCW in London, as well as the author of Whiskey Distilled, A Populist Guide to the Water of Life. Greene’s “nose” is well- regarded – she’s been using it behind the scenes for years, helping brands develop tasting notes, batch, blend and optimize inventory. This skill, in combination with her writing and marketing skills, will come together under one roof in Texas.
Milam & Greene premium small batch straight bourbon will include grain-to-glass whiskey made by head brewer Jordan Osborne and master distiller Marlene Holmes. The two-year-old Texas Straight Bourbon from Texas will be expertly blended by Greene and her team with 10-year-old and four-year-old Tennessee Whiskey to ensure a robust and balanced flavor. They will then rest in old Bourbon barrels for extra aging.
