CRANBURY, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--CURE Media Group’s flagship product, CURE® magazine, which services over a million patients, survivors and caregivers dedicated to providing cancer updates, announces co-host of E! News, New York Times best-selling author and cancer survivor Giuliana Rancic as the keynote speaker for the upcoming Extraordinary Healer® Award event taking place April 11th.
“Giuliana’s incredible journey inspires the entire cancer community, and we admire the way she uses her platform to support cancer patients,” said Michael J. Hennessy Jr., president of MJH Associates, parent company of CURE Media Group. “We are honored to be joined by her in recognizing oncology nurses who truly make a difference in their patients’ lives.”
Rancic was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2011. After initially having a double lumpectomy and radiation was unsuccessful, Rancic underwent a double mastectomy. The successful surgeries left her cancer free and Rancic created an initiative “FAB-U-WISH” a program to grant fashion, beauty and celebrity-themed wishes to women battling breast cancer. This program is just one aspect of her ongoing mission to help those going through hardships to find happiness and a positive outlook on life. Others charitable initiatives include The Pink Agenda, Breast Cancer Research Foundation, Operation Smile, Dress for Success, Mercy Home for Boys and Girls in Chicago and the Children’s Miracle Networks.
While Rancic is best known as a personality on E! News where she won a daytime Emmy award for “fan favorite”, she is also a fashion designer, restaurant owner and New York Times Best-Selling author. Rancic’s latest book “Going off Script” is a memoir that goes into her childhood, but also her struggles with cancer and infertility. Rancic’s latest project is launching a safe and clean skincare line called Fountain of Truth, which was inspired by her breast cancer journey.
The Extraordinary Healer® Award reception will take place on April 11th in conjunction to the Oncology Nursing Society’s 44th Annual Congress in Anaheim, California. For more information, click here.
