Motus Takes to the Streets of Chicago with Care For Friends to Tackle Homelessness

Boston-Based Company Working to Make a Difference in the Windy City Ahead of New Office Opening Later this Year

BOSTON, Mass.--()--Motus, the premier vehicle management and reimbursement platform, today announced that several of its employees will join Chicago-based non-profit Care For Friends (CFF) in its annual Sleepout for Homelessness. Taking place in Chicago’s Lincoln Park on Friday, February 22, the sleepout raises funds and awareness to change the lives of the homeless.

“Homelessness is a widespread issue. On a typical morning, about 80,000 Chicagoans wake up without a place to call home,” said Hope Pavich, executive director of Care For Friends. “Partners and volunteers like Motus make a critical difference as we work to address the underlying challenges that bring about this issue, so it’s wonderful to see a company investing time and money into our organization and the community even before their local office officially opens. It speaks to the values of the company, but also the incredibly valuable work we’re doing at Care For Friends to end homelessness.”

CFF connects Chicago's most vulnerable with the resources they need to get out of homelessness. The organization begins with a "no questions asked" meal that's open to all, building trusting relationships between guests and the partners who can eventually get them housed, trained for jobs, and connected with mental and physical health resources. During the annual sleepout, four dozen Chicagoans will spend a night sleeping outdoors at 530 W. Fullerton to experience some of the winter conditions the homeless population face on a daily basis, while raising money and awareness of these challenges. During the event, former guests and partners of CFF will stop by through the evening, telling stories about how CFF changed their lives.

“At Motus, we want team members that strive for better – not just in the technology solutions we create, but also for our community and society as a whole,” said Craig Powell, CEO of Motus. “Care For Friends is an amazing organization and its unique approach to addressing homelessness through trust, cultivating relationships, and offering real, practical solutions embodies the ideals we value in our own company culture. As we look to grow our team and join the Chicago community this year, we can’t think of a better way to begin putting down roots than teaming up with Care For Friends.”

More information about the sleepout and how to support it can be found online at www.CFFSleeps.org. During the event, CFF will also be on social media using the hashtag #CFFSleeps and providing real-time updates here.
