Yamaha’s XTO Offshore Available in Quintuplet Helm Master Configuration This Summer

Experience XTO Offshore Power at the 2019 Miami International Boat Show®

MIAMI--()--Yamaha Marine’s powerful V8 XTO Offshore® outboard will be available this summer in quintuplet configuration, controlled exclusively by Helm Master®, Yamaha’s integrated boat control system.

The XTO Offshore makes its South Florida in-water debut during the 2019 Miami International Boat Show®, February 14-18 at Miami Marine Stadium Park and Basin on Virginia Key.

Yamaha’s 5.6L V8 XTO Offshore outboard is revolutionizing big power for big boats, with extreme levels of power and thrust, toughness and reliability, and system integration,” said Ben Speciale, President, Yamaha U.S. Marine Business Unit. “As boats get bigger, so do the XTO’s capabilities.”

Introduced to critical acclaim in May of 2018, the IBEX Innovation Award-winning XTO Offshore is the industry’s first direct injection four-stroke with electric steering. The outboard hit the market in August 2018, and is now the outboard of choice for big offshore boats.

Qualified Miami International Boat Show® attendees can visit Pier 2 just outside of the exhibit halls to experience the performance of the XTO Offshore on a wide selection of boats driven by seasoned Captains. During the demo rides, attendees will also learn more about Yamaha’s Helm Master and how together, the XTO Offshore and Helm Master take boating experiences to a new level of efficiency, power and integrated control.

For those looking to see the quintuplet configuration, Scout Boats will showcase its all-new 530LXF with five XTO Offshore outboards. In addition, Captain Skip Dana will command a 53-foot HydraSport® featuring Helm Master and powered by four Yamaha XTO Offshore outboards. Dana is a full-time charter and professional tournament angler with a U.S. Coast Guard 100 Ton Master’s License.

Captain Bill Platt will showcase Helm Master on a 39-foot Sea Hunter powered by triple XTOs. Platt started fishing at five years old and has competed in professional offshore tournaments since 1986, claiming several first place and championship titles.

Captain Shannon Pickens will demo a 336 Grady White® featuring Helm Master and powered by twin XTOs. Pickens is a U.S. Coastal Guard 50 Ton Master’s License and works as a full-time guide in the Chesapeake Bay region.

During this year’s show, Yamaha Marine will showcase more power options available than ever before. Qualified boat show attendees interested in Yamaha’s V6 Offshore power options can take a demo ride with Captain Bob Wiggins on an Edgewater® 262 Center Console featuring Helm Master, powered by twin Yamaha F250 outboards. Wiggins has a U.S. Coast Guard 100 Ton Master’s License and has competed in offshore saltwater tournaments for more than five decades.

Captain Sean Gill will also offer demo rides on a Regulator® 28 Center Console featuring Helm Master, powered by twin Yamaha F300s. Gill guides private clients, delivers seminars and competes in tournaments, from marlin on the West Coast to tarpon on the East.

Boat show attendees can also visit Yamaha in the exhibit hall (booths F201 and F210) to see the full range of Yamaha product on display including the F300, the V MAX SHO® outboard family, the all-new T25 and F20 portable outboards and more. Visitors can also try their hand at the Helm Master simulator to get a better understanding of true integrated boat control. The Yamaha Marine product presenters will present live in booth F210, and those presentations will also air live on an interactive LED display in booth F201. The Yamaha team will be available to answer all questions in English and Spanish during the show.
