Xcel Energy Named a World’s Most Admired Company for Fifth Consecutive Year

Minneapolis-based company is second most admired energy company

MINNEAPOLIS--()--Xcel Energy has been recognized by Fortune Magazine as one of the World’s Most Admired Companies. This is the fifth consecutive year the company made the national magazine’s list and is ranked the second most admired electric and gas company in the country.

Xcel Energy recently announced its vision to achieve 100 percent carbon-free electricity by 2050, the first utility in the nation to do so. It also plans to reduce carbon emissions 80 percent from 2005 levels by 2030, while keeping bills low for customers.

The magazine surveys executives, directors, and industry analysts about companies in their industry, the rankings are based on nine attributes including investment value, social responsibility, ability to attract talent and quality of management and products.

Fortune collaborated with Korn Ferry on this reputational survey of the 1,000 largest U.S. companies ranked by revenue, along with non-U.S. companies in Fortune’s Global 500 database with revenues of more than $10 billion.
