ECFC Announces New Health Savings Account (HSA) Expert Certification

WASHINGTON--()--ECFC, the leading nonprofit organization promoting choice in benefit solutions, today announced that a new Health Savings Account (HSA) Expert Certificate is now available for ECFC members and non-members.

Developed through a partnership with the American Banker’s Association (ABA) and distributed through HSA Council, the HSA Expert Certificate is an online training program for bankers that is designed to help HSA providers and staff master key requirements, situations and strategies to better serve their HSA account holders.

“Our new certificate will provide a comprehensive overview of HSA requirements for financial institutions and benefits administrators,” said ECFC Executive Director Martin Trussell. “This certification will not only allow HSA administrators to further assist customers plan for healthy financial futures, but also help financial institutions grow business.”

Among the highlights of the HSA Expert Certificate:

  • HSA account administration
  • HSA benefits, strategies and best practices
  • Contribution and distribution requirements

The required, self-paced courses include: Overview of Health Savings Accounts; HSA Eligibility; HSA Contributions; HSA Distributions; HSA Account Administration; HSA Benefits, Strategies and Best Practices; and How Much Do You Know About HSAs?

The new HSA Expert Certificate represents the seventh designation in the ECFC industry designations program. Other ECFC designations are Flexible Compensation Specialist (FCS); Certified in Flexible Compensation (CFC); Advanced Certified in Flexible Compensation (ACFC); COBRA Administration Specialist (CAS); Certified Flexible Compensation Instructor (CFCI); and Advanced Certified Flexible Compensation Instructor (ACFCI).

ECFC’s HSA Expert Certificate pricing is $795 for members and $1,095 for non-members. Individuals who successfully complete the certificate and included online exam earn a three-year HSA Expert Certification. For more information visit: https://ecfc.org/.
