TAIPEI, Taiwan--()--The Council of Agriculture (COA) has recently launched 170 itineraries featuring 200 farms with 36 fruits around the country, hoping to attract both domestic and foreign tourists to experience the sweet fun of fruit picking.

Taiwan is known by many as the "Kingdom of Fruit.” Not only countless varieties of delicious, sweet fruit available year-round, but the pure fun of picking seasonal fruit right off the tree or vine is like nothing else.

The subtropical island-nation produces fruits all year round. Papayas, guavas, and pineapples are available in four seasons. Spring to summer is the best period to taste the fruits of Taiwan, especially loquats, plums and watermelons as well as mangos. Autumn to winter is also good for many fruits such as grapefruits, citrus, tomatoes and strawberry, according to COA.

In addition to enjoying fruit in season and at the source, tourists can take fruit as a point of departure for diving deeper into local culture and features as they experience the pinnacle of seasonal flavor over the shortest distance between farm and table.

Gift boxes with seasonal fruits, traditional cuisine and an adoption program for fruit trees that are supervised by COA are also available for tourists to experience.

Agri ezgo, a travel guide and information website set by COA to introduce Taiwan-grown fruits and related industry, includes six categories such as seasonal fruits picking, grommet food, recommend souvenir and feature story.

Meanwhile, a special designed fruit season calendar offers information that introduces the best fruit in each growing region.

The multi-language website, which is available in Chinese, English, and Japanese, provides regulations and procedures for exporting fruits products to travel outside Taiwan. Brochure in Korean, Thai and Vietnamese is also available on the website.
