SACRAMENTO, Calif.--()--RagingWire Data Centers, Inc., the premier data center provider in North America and part of the global data center platform of NTT Communications (NTT Com), today announced that it has hired industry veteran Kevin Dalton as its new Senior Vice President of Construction and Critical Facilities Engineering and Design.

Prior to joining RagingWire, Mr. Dalton spent 12 years at Digital Realty Trust, Inc. During his time at Digital Realty, he served in a number of technical and senior management roles. He spent the last seven years as Vice President of Engineering, leading teams of engineers to design and deliver data center solutions for customers around the world.

Mr. Dalton will lead RagingWire’s charge to deploy its new “V2” data center design and construction model, which embraces global industry standards, multi-story buildings, and massive capacity delivered at a lower cost and shorter cycle time than ever before. This new design leverages modular construction techniques and robust supply chain management to produce superior, large-scale data centers for hyperscale cloud companies and Fortune 1000 enterprises.

“Our new V2 data center design and construction model provides what hyperscale cloud companies and large enterprises want: massive, cost-effective capacity with international connectivity for their mission-critical applications,” said RagingWire President and CEO Doug Adams. “With his long history of global success in the data center industry, Kevin Dalton is a perfect fit for this objective. He is an expert at optimizing data center designs and the entire construction process to drive rapid growth, improved quality, and speed to market.”

Mr. Dalton joins RagingWire as the company is actively developing several new data center properties, including two 250,000 square-foot facilities within its Ashburn Data Center Campus. The two-story VA4 and VA5 Data Centers will each provide 32 megawatts of power across four 35,000 square-foot, private mega-vaults. Construction for VA4 is scheduled for completion in summer 2019. VA5 will be available in six to nine months after customer commitments.

In addition to construction underway in Ashburn, RagingWire is planning to develop its 42-acre campus in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, where its 16-megawatt TX1 Data Center opened last year. These expansions add to a portfolio that contains three data centers in Sacramento, Calif., which total 680,000 square feet and 52.7 megawatts of critical power. The company is also completing design and permitting for a 19-acre property in the wholesale data center area of western Chicago, and expects to announce additional new developments in other top data center markets in North America.

“RagingWire is rapidly growing its presence in the world’s most important data center markets,” Mr. Dalton said. “I see this as a great opportunity to contribute to the company’s momentum where it is established, while also driving growth into new areas.”

Before his time at Digital Realty, Mr. Dalton spent 10 years at MGE UPS Systems, a world leader in uninterrupted power supply systems, and nine years at McClier Corporation, a design-build firm. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology.
