VirtualHealth Executive to Discuss Patient Engagement at 2018 Texas Association of Health Plans (TAHP) Managed Care Conference

NEW YORK--()--VirtualHealth, the leading SaaS platform for care management and population health, announced today that its Vice President of Clinical Operations, Mirabelle Cabiling, RN, will explore the latest advances in patient engagement technology at the Texas Association of Health Plan’s (TAHP) 2018 Managed Care Conference and Trade Show. Cabiling joins a select group of industry experts invited to participate in a panel session—Patient Engagement? There’s an App for That—scheduled for November 13, 2018 at 10 a.m.

Patient engagement is a focal point of healthcare industry efforts to improve quality and drive positive outcomes. A 2018 CHIME report revealed that provider organizations are deploying a broad array of tools to support strategies that empower patients in their care through shared decision making. The benefits of patient engagement are well documented, and industry research points to the efficacy of using collaborative technology to help patients make better choices, ultimately resulting in better care and lower costs.

Cabiling and her fellow panelists will examine why patient engagement is critical for improved health outcomes and the challenges organizations face in devising an optimal strategy. Additionally, the panel will share insights on interventions that have succeeded or failed in the past and how organizations can replicate industry best practices. The presentation will also include a discussion on techniques for successfully engaging complex and vulnerable patients, particularly those within Medicaid and Medicare programs, who may require additional support and resources. Cabiling will share how next generation technology, such as the VirtualHealth platform, is empowering a whole-person view and driving proactive care management programs.

The largest managed care conference and trade show in Texas, TAHP brings together stakeholders from across the healthcare spectrum, including major health plans, providers, regulators, legislators, journalists and academics. The three-day event featuring 80 speakers takes place November 12-14, 2018 at the Hilton Americas-Houston.

“Patients are at the center of care management, and organizations require a comprehensive approach to engage complex patients,” said Adam Sabloff, founder and CEO, VirtualHealth. “With her deep expertise and unique perspective on patient engagement, Mirabelle has much to contribute to the national conversation on the importance of having the right technical, operational, and clinical frameworks in place to achieve optimal outcomes.”
