Pepperdine Graziadio Business School Reveals 15 Startups on Most Fundable Companies List

Early-stage U.S. companies selected based on their readiness for private investment

LOS ANGELES--()--Pepperdine Graziadio Business School announced its first annual Most Fundable Companies List at a campus event Thursday, with South Carolina-based company, Soteria Battery Innovation Group, taking the top spot. Thousands of early-stage U.S. companies with less than $10 million in annual revenue participated in the Most Fundable Companies initiative, which is designed to bridge the gap between startups and the capital they need to succeed.

In addition to announcing the 15 Most Fundable Companies, the Graziadio School recognizes five Highly Promising startups, firms with particularly strong business plans and near-term growth projections. Honorees on the inaugural list are located across the country and come from a variety of industries including telecommunications, blockchain, and construction.

“Recognizing that competition for funding is getting tighter we developed the Most Fundable Companies initiative to assist angel and venture capital investors in identifying early-stage startups that are worthy of investment,” said Craig Everett, assistant professor of finance and director of the Pepperdine Private Capital Markets Project. “We are thrilled to recognize these Best for the World entrepreneurs who have developed a strong business model to capitalize on unique market opportunities.”

The Most Fundable Companies assessment evaluates several company variables, including financial projections, market opportunity, intellectual property, and the strength of the management team, all of which are used to produce a fundability score for every company that participates. The top 15 companies were selected in partnership with The Venture Alliance (TVA).
