TOKYO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aetos Japan LLC, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Aetos Capital Real Estate, LP (ACRE), an independent investment management firm focused on investment opportunities in Asian real estate markets, today announced that it has hired Charlie Haase as a Managing Director to support the firm’s strategic business development efforts. Charlie will be based out of Tokyo, Japan, where he has been a resident for over six years.
Mr. Haase has a broad track record in the real estate industry, concentrating on investment and portfolio management, asset management, and capital raising advisory activities. He has worked extensively with real estate managers, investors and operating platforms in the U.S. and international markets.
Prior to joining Aetos Japan, Mr. Haase was General Manager with Tokyu Land Corporation’s U.S. Planning Group where he assisted the company with their principal investment business. He also served on the Client Relations Team, working to bring outside capital into those investments. Mr. Haase was also a founding member of Tokyu Livable’s Global Business Development Group, offering real estate services and investment management to overseas clients, and facilitating investment in Japanese real estate by foreign investors.
Prior to joining Tokyo Livable, Mr. Haase spent nearly nine years as a Real Estate Investment Officer for the California State Teachers’ Retirement System. At CalSTRS, his responsibilities included real estate fund investments in the U.S., Europe, Asia and Latin America, as well as CalSTRS’ directly held U.S. multifamily portfolio of more than 50,000 units.

Mr. Haase has been an Assistant Professor of Economics at San Francisco State University, and a Visiting Lecturer in Economics at the University of California at Berkeley. Mr. Haase holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of California at Davis.
