CRANBURY, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--CURE Media Group, the nation’s leading digital and print media enterprise dedicated to patients and survivors of cancer, welcomes the Foundation for Women’s Cancer (FWC) to the Strategic Alliance Partnership (SAP) program. The partners will collaborate to increase research, education and public awareness about gynecologic cancer risk, prevention, early detection and optimal treatment.
“We are so grateful to partner with the Foundation for Women’s Cancer,” said Michael J. Hennessy Jr., president of MJH Associates Inc., parent company of CURE Media Group. “Through this partnership, we look forward to help supporting the FWC mission and core values to eradicate gynecologic cancers.”
The FWC is a charitable organization formed in 1991 with a vision to end women’s cancer through mission-based programs that support research, education and public awareness of gynecologic cancers. The FWC is the official foundation of the Society of Gynecologic Oncology (SGO), the premier medical specialty society for health care professionals, which will celebrate its 50th anniversary in 2019.
“This partnership with CURE Media Group is an invaluable opportunity,” said the FWC Board Chair, David Mutch, MD, FACOG, of Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, MO. “The ability to communicate information about gynecologic cancers – from symptoms to clinical trials – is a vital part of our work and we look forward to seeing these resources reach more people who need them.”
Knowing the importance of bringing awareness to gynecologic cancers, the FWC declared September as Gynecologic Cancer Awareness Month (GCAM) in 1999. This year, the FWC is encouraging survivors, patients, medical staff, advocates and friends to post messages about what they want the public to know about gynecologic cancers using #IWishIKnew and #GCAM throughout the month.
As part of this joint effort, the FWC will be able to share valuable content and awareness campaigns through CURE® magazine, where readers will have access to unprecedented resources, including the latest research, interviews and articles that can help patients with cancer and their caregivers make better-informed decisions. The SAP program is designed to facilitate an open exchange of information among trusted peers, with the goal to improve patient care.
