Netronome Announces Fall Extended Berkeley Packet Filter (eBPF) Webinar Series

Bi-Weekly Webinar Series to Provide Comprehensive Training on the eBPF Architecture, Compiling eBPF Programs, Debugging and Diagnosing Problems, Performance Tuning and Hardware Offload

SANTA CLARA, Calif.--()--Netronome, a leader in high-performance intelligent networking solutions, announced today its three-part series of eBPF training webinars running from September 11 through October 9, 2018. Operators building infrastructures for hyperscale/cloud data center and enterprise edge applications will learn basic and advanced fundamentals of eBPF, how to compile and verify programs, tools and debugging, and finally, how to marry the benefits of the eBPF framework with transparent hardware acceleration via SmartNICs.

eBPF has shown increased attention and rapid adoption since its introduction into the Linux kernel in 2014, and many useful eBPF networking applications have been created by the Linux community; for example DDoS mitigation apps, firewalls, load balancers, monitoring, security and tracing. Programs using eBPF can be changed on the fly and can be transparently offloaded to SmartNICs to dramatically improve performance and efficiency.

“eBPF is an exciting and rapidly growing technology in the Linux kernel. What is being produced within the kernel community stands to become a massively powerful shift in networking, with more use cases and innovations constantly being developed,” said Nic Viljoen, associate director of software engineering at Netronome. “Our eBPF webinar series is tailored to help application developers and networking engineers quickly get familiar with eBPF, the various toolsets, as well as how to gain even further performance through hardware offload.”

About Netronome

Netronome designs and markets server networking and coprocessor platforms, including its market leading silicon accelerators, boards and software, enabling customers to increase the efficiency and security of their modern data center infrastructure. Netronome products reduce the total cost of ownership (TCO) and drive significantly higher server performance resulting in increased revenue per server for service providers. The evolution of lower cost and standards-based software-defined networking implemented in servers has enabled rapid innovation and transformed the economics for data center compute and networking. However, such new deployments continue to face significant scaling and efficiency challenges with the rapid move from 10GbE to 25/50GbE and higher bandwidth network infrastructure requirements. Netronome brings back much-needed scale and efficiency, without compromising flexibility, simplicity or the speed of innovation needed in today’s cloud networks running businesses of all sizes. Netronome has a global footprint and is headquartered in Santa Clara, CA. To learn more about Netronome and its products, please visit www.netronome.com.
