RANCHO SANTA MARGARITA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Virtium, a leading provider of solid-state drive (SSD) and memory solutions for the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) market, today announced that industry veteran Steve Litchfield has joined its Board of Directors. Litchfield, who serves as chief financial officer and chief corporate strategy officer at MaxLinear, joins the board with the objective of augmenting Virtium’s strong organic growth with a more robust mergers-and-acquisitions effort in order to expand Virtium’s addressable market and add new product offerings relevant for both new and existing customers in the embedded-systems and IIoT markets.

Prior to his present position at MaxLinear, Litchfield was executive vice president and chief strategy officer of Microsemi Corp. He previously served as vice president of the Microsemi’s Analog and Mixed Signal Group, which followed his prior position as vice president of corporate marketing and business development, as well as being a member of the company’s Board of Directors, with that company. His previous experience included being an equity research analyst at Banc of America Securities, as well as a production engineer at Toyota Motor Corp. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in industrial engineering from Purdue University and a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Southern California Marshall School of Business.
