MIAMI & DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits (“Southern Glazer’s”)—the largest North American wine and spirits distribution company—announced today that several of its beverage experts will present educational sessions at The Flavor Experience, an invitation-only conference for corporate level food and beverage decision-makers from the foodservice and hospitality industry. The event will be held August 13-15, 2018, at the Newport Beach Marriott Hotel & Spa in Newport Beach, Calif., and will include sessions provided by Southern Glazer’s beverage experts Brian Masilionis, Liz Frye, and Allen Katz.

On Tuesday, August 14, at 1:00 p.m., Mr. Masilionis and Southern Glazer’s Director of Mixology and Spirits Education Mr. Katz will lead the Toolbox Session “Drink in the Trends…Coast to Coast,” which will provide attendees with an in-depth overview of what is happening in beverage across the country. These insights will come from Mr. Masilionis’ recent travels to hand-selected trend-forward bars, restaurants, and clubs in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, and hip middle-America cities such as Kansas City and Dallas. He partnered with Southern Glazer’s Director of National Accounts On-Premise Liz Frye to seek out each city’s drink innovations and identify key flavor trends for multi-chain operator considerations.
Also on August 14, Mr. Katz and Ms. Frye will moderate a session titled “Drinking the Trends: Tasting and Translating Trends for Your Menu” at 3:15 p.m. In this educational session, attendees will have the opportunity to taste the different flavor components of a trend-forward cocktail to understand their individual and collective role in the drink. From there, they’ll get to experience how those flavors can be pre-batched at the bar to improve execution and speed.
